This game is a remake of the classical game LodeRunner. The core gameplay remains the same: Gold Sprinter runs around a level gathering gold and escaping cruel monsters. The player can dig holes to trap the enemies. Once all of the gold has been collected, the player can come through a portal to the next level - a seemingly easy goal that turns out not so easy to achieve. The way to glory is swarmed with annoyingly stubborn enemies whose only passion is their stash.
The notable features of this game are an elegantly rendered 3D worlds and characters; true color graphics and animation; joystick support and interactive environment. You have over 100 puzzle and arcade-style levels to go through, easy level pack are available especially for kids. You will also encounter dynamic particle system effects like smoke, dust etc. And funny sound effects and ambient music will keep you going.

Gold Sprinter is a platform game in which you must collect all gold and diamonds in order to get to the next level. All the levels are crowded with monsters that will try to prevent you from accomplishing your mission. You can also dig holes on the ground to catch the items and also to trap your enemies, but beware not to get trapped by yourself.
There are ten worlds to choose from with different themes and platforms, two of which are specially intended for kids. In these two worlds, there are no enemies, so kids only have to worry about getting all the gold and diamonds to get to the next levels. All the levels also include lots of power-ups and bonuses that help you complete the levels faster and easier. You can also select the level you wish to play in each world, so if you don't manage to find the solution to one level, you can continue with the next one and return to that one later. Of course, the levels get more and more challenging as you progress, with more enemies and more complicated puzzles to solve.
The controls are very simple. You just use the arrow keys to move the character and Alt and Ctrl to dig holes. It also offers joystick support if you prefer to play that way.
Regarding the graphics, they are simple but attractive. Sound effects are average and the music is nice, but very repetitive and gets annoying after a while.
In short, Gold Sprinter is a good platform game that offers challenging levels in different worlds, but don't expect much from the graphics. |
